Navigator

The Third Eye
You can navigate the warp; this allows warp-based ship travel at increased speeds when compared to NPC Navigators. You gain the Lidless Stare navigator power and an effective +1 to Warp Navigation. This may grant you an effective level above Advanced at character creation. This bonus cannot raise your effective level above Epic.

Basic
Void Watcher
Once per downtime you may apply 40 EP to meet the cost & 40 endeavour points to meet the difficulty of the same endeavour.
  • Upgrade: You may now do this twice per downtime.
  • Upgrade: You increase the speed of your ship by 1.
Gaze into the Abyss
Your Third Eye allows you to see the truth of things. Three times per day, you may look at a target and discern whether they are under the effects of, or classified as: Daemonic, Holy, Possessed or Corrupt.
  • Upgrade: You may now also discern if the target is a psyker or a mutant.
  • Upgrade: You can discern if the target is attempting to deceive you. This effect lasts ten minutes.
  • Upgrade: You may now also discern the target’s dominant emotion and if they are lying to you. This effect lasts ten minutes.

Precognition – Intermediate
Precognitive Awareness
Your preternatural instincts allow you to avoid impossible blows. Once per combat, you may spend a Vitality hit to call Shield. This does stack with a normal Shield.
  • Upgrade: You may now use this talent three times per combat
  • Upgrade: You gain an additional 2 Vitality hits. These extra Vitality hits cannot be used in armour heavier than Light Flak
Pierce the Veil
All that is hidden is revealed to your Third Eye. Once per day, you can see through any level of Stealth regardless of the level of Stealth used.
  • Upgrade: You may now use this talent three times per day.
  • Upgrade: You may now see through Unseen instead

Power – Intermediate
Baleful Eye
Your Third Eye has become more potent. You may now use The Lidless Stare three times per combat.
  • Upgrade: Your Lidless Stare now does Quad Vital Flame
  • Upgrade: You may now add Stun to your Lidless Stare attacks.
  • Upgrade: You may now expend a Vitality to use The Lidless Stare

Stable Mutation
Your power as a Navigator grows, and expresses itself through changes to your body. You may select one of the following mutations that must be phys-repped. Please talk to the ST's if you have ideas for something that is not on the list.

Mutations: Prehensile Tail (Disarm 1/combat), Scaled Skin (+2 Armour Hit), Unnatural Frame (-2 Body, +2 Vitality), Resilient Frame (-2 Vitality, +4 Body), Warpsight (+1 Awareness 3/day), Disturbing Voice (+1 Intimidation 3/day)
  • Upgrade: You may select an additional mutation from this list
  • Upgrade: You may select an additional mutation from this list

Universal – Intermediate
Warp Conduit
You may select any one Navigator power to manifest.
  • Upgrade: You may make use of the Navigator power upgrade

Precognition – Advanced
Future Sight
Once per day, you may request a list of all technical skill decks being used on an encounter.
  • Upgrade: You may now ask one yes/no question about the required contents of each technical deck
Postcognition
Three times per day, you may ask a Storyteller one question about the history of an object or place in your vicinity.
  • Upgrade: You may now ask three questions when you use this talent

Power – Advanced
Freakborn
Your power continues to express itself through mutations. Select one of the following mutations that must be phys-repped. Please talk to the ST's if you have ideas for something that is not on the list.

Mutations: Inhuman Visage (Terror 1/day), Regeneration (Heal 2 self 3/day), Unnatural Body (Immune to Toxic), Warp-fed (No need to eat, drink or breathe)
  • Upgrade: You may select an additional mutation from this list
Dangerous Bargain
You tap the flow of the warp to a dangerous extent in order to gain more energy.
You may use any Navigator Power or Talent you possess, even if you have already used all your uses for the day/combat. You gain a green corruption card for each use of this power.
  • Upgrade: You may use this power on non-navigator talents you possess (but not powers or equipment).

Universal – Advanced
Improved Warp Conduit
You may select any one Navigator power to manifest.
  • Upgrade: You may make use of the Navigator power upgrade

The Mutation lists are not finalised. They represent brainstorming rather than a definitive list.

You may notice that the Universal talents aren't listed. This is because we're rethinking Navigator powers and how they work. They'll be going back in, but we need to make the new list of powers before we can balance the "gain power" talents.

Assuming someone takes the mutation 'doesn't require food, sleep, air', what phys-rep would you expect? Because man, that could be exciting... :P

I would like to see Pierce the Veil improved to "per combat" instead of "per day", which will make it more desirable - as it stands, it's not a lot of benefit considering Stealth can be called at will, and I expect to see it used in more and more enconuters as the system matures. I'd also like to see, depending on how often/common Unseen is amongst NPC enemies, the Unseen option easier to obtain (there was a lot of enemy Unseen kicking around, last event - admittedly, this is easier to solve as an issue by altering it from the NPC-statting point of view).

Also, are the "Unnatural Frame" & "Resilient Frame" mutations intended to be out of balance with each other?

Personally? They should look odd. They're fueled by the warp, so pallid skin with discoloured veins could be appropriate. Hairlessness might work well.

Yes.

It needs to be balanced against a Scout's ability to make those calls. Pierce the Veil is roughly equivalent to the Scout talent What Lies Hidden.

Anyone got any suggestions for the missing Advanced power?

How about this

Warpchild

You have becomed so accustomed to staring into the crazed maelstrom of energies of the warp, that this mortal world holds little that would surprise or scare you.

That's the flavour. As for powers, I'm thinking fear/terror resistance. It's a top level talent, so it needs to be pretty great. Flat immune to fear, with a few resist terrors per combat/day?

  • Upgrade: You may call No Effect to a Terror call in exchange for taking a green corruption card.

I'm not sure Immunity to Fear is actually worthy of being an advanced talent. Not when you get your integrity rank in resists every combat anyway.

Following the pattern, it would be an expression of power.

One possibility is simply to have it be an extra power slot.
