You may call Shield 1/combat against non area effect attacks. This cannot be used in armour heavier than Light Flak. This is in addition to any power fields you may possess.

Functional, useful, bit generic perhaps but adds nice survivability when stacked on top of a regular shield item. Then again, 9xp for something pretty cheap & common feels a bit... off. My gut reaction is that I'd rather just buy a Shield item for 3/combat and make do with that, rather than spend 9xp for 4/combat and then another 9 to get to 6/combat.

How about some kind of generalist "jack of all trades" ability, allowing a Scout to duplicate the effect of any other Basic Major Archetype Talent 1/day (with exception of psychic/Navigator/other physically-modified ones), upgradable to 3/day? Or maybe per event if that seems a bit too OP?

Yeah, I was a little unexcited with it as well. But it seemed the easiest way to reflect the idea of almost supernatural agility. An advanced power really should be more than a single extra use of Shield. But going straight to 3 extra is too much.

That's an interesting idea. But, the classes are now so focussed that it just plays havoc with any attempts to balance it. Many basic abilities are massively under powered this way while others (especially daily ones) give too much of an edge.

A potential second upgrade could allow it to be used against or area effects? Representing back flipping like a ninja out of the area.

The advanced powers only get a single upgrade.

I quite like the idea of them not working quite like shields. Especially as the only other character that can call more than three shields are adeptus mechanicus who have to give up potential offensive calls to get them.

We've removed the second Upgrade on Infiltrate to bring it in line with other advanced powers?

I've also added the advanced talent Fluid Grace to the front post.

Infiltrate has been revised to lower the MAX IP of titles available, but broaden the range of organisations you can infiltrate.
